Important information about terms of service of Edumedia

The State and University Library offers a platform, Edumedia, for exchange of videos and similar content in relation to education, research, communication, information etc. in Denmark. Users from Danish educational institutions can e.g. upload videos and other content on Edumedia. Edumedia is 100% user driven and the State and University Library does not inspect the content before uploading.

Legal issues and responsibility

The State and University Library disclaims any liability for any loss directly, indirectly or of any other kind. The State and University Library disclaims any liability for the content or any kind of misuse or abuse in relation to lack of rights, violation of the terms or of the law, violation of the rights of others or any other consequences of use directly or indirectly.

Users uploading content on Edumedia have accepted the terms of service stating that the material uploaded can be used for non-commercial educational or research purposes. This license allows other users to download the materials and use them in connection with non-commercial teaching and research. Users are also allowed to share the material as long as they credit the right holder. They are not allowed to change the material or use it commercially.

If the material contains recordings of recognizable persons who are actively participating (e.g. teachers or students), they must give their consent both to the recording and the publication on Edumedia.dk. This follows from the Personal Data Protection Act. Therefore the recordings can only be published in Edumedia with their consent, and they can withdraw the consent at any time. If their consent are withdrawn users are no longer allowed to use the parts of the material in which they appear.

The State and University Library does not inspect the content of Edumedia and cannot guarantee that the user uploading content is not violating the rights or economic interests of others. The State and University Library disclaims any liability for the lack of consent, withdrawal of consent or any violation of the rights of others.

Therefore it is important, that you are careful only to use, download or share material that you trust because of the risk of your financial or legal responsibil-ity if the content on Edumedia is uploaded contrary to the rights of others and contrary to the terms of service.

Reporting of abuse

If you experience content on Edumedia that in your opinion violates your own or other peoples rights we strongly encourage you to report this by using the function "Report content as inappropriate".

Obligation to stay updated

The terms of service for using Edumedia will be regularly updated. The current terms of service are always available on Edumedia. When using Edumedia you are obliged to stay informed of the current terms of services. The State and University Library reserves the right to remove content, close or limit Edumedia at any time without any responsibility.
